Top entertainment hotspots to explore in Yorkshire in late 2024

Yorkshire is a county with plenty to offer both residents and visitors. This is just as true in autumn and winter as it is in spring and summer. Although the weather might dictate what’s possible, the county has a diverse range of options to stay busy with when temperatures drop.

People heading to the county for the first time might need a hand narrowing down the very best entertainment choices to explore in late 2024. Our guide sets out some of the best to fit into your schedule.

Grosvenor Casino, Leeds

Leeds is one of the most popular places to visit in Yorkshire and is packed full of entertainment choices. Playing games at Grosvenor Casino stands out and is a great inside entertainment option to consider as we head towards the end of the year.

As well as classic games such as blackjack and roulette to try, this casino has an on-site bar for drinks and dining. Easy to find, and open 24 hours, this is a day or night on the town like no other. If you would rather play games from your hotel, then online casinos are an alternative to think about. Just remember to read up on sign up bonuses first so that you find the best ones to claim.

York Barbican, York

If you’re looking for some sizzling-hot entertainment hotspots around the county in late 2024, why not check out a gig at the famous Barbican in York? This venue has played host to some of the biggest acts in music and has some eye-catching concerts planned before the year ends.

From grooving away to the Bootleg Beatles in early December to revisiting the Rat Pack later that month, this is a venue that has something for all tastes. It’s not just top-class music on offer either – it also regularly hosts comedy and entertainment shows from celebrity names such as Jimmy Carr and Anton du Beke!

Doncaster Racecourse, Doncaster

Doncaster is another well-known location for visitors to Yorkshire and has masses of entertainment choices. Although you might need to wrap up warm to beat the cold, racing carries on here during the autumn and winter and makes for a fun day out.

Whether it’s the glamour, the awesome atmosphere or the chance to watch your favourite jockey in action, a day at the races never disappoints. Doncaster Racecourse itself is also one of the best around and has some tasty food to try in between races.

Stockeld Park, Wetherby

If you want to add some real magic to your life as 2024 draws to a close, why not visit Stockeld Park? Although this is a great day out at any time of the year, it really comes alive when the colder months arrive.

From mid-November until early January 2025, a stunning Christmas adventure awaits visitors. From a walk through the Enchanted Forest (with its sparkling illuminations) to a spin on the ice rink or a visit to Santa’s Grotto, there is so much to do here for all the family. For those who cannot walk far, the electric ‘Festive Flying Stocksman’ land train is on hand to use.

The Deep, Hull

Found on Hull’s Tower Street, The Deep is another superb inside entertainment choice for when the weather gets chilly in late 2024. It’s one of the most awe-inspiring aquariums in the UK and home to around 3,500 fish, including spectacular rays, terrifying sharks and more! As an award-winning visitor attraction in Yorkshire, you can be certain of a great day out here that all the family will love.

Even better, every standard admission currently acts as an annual pass. This brings unlimited revisits within one year at no extra cost. Open from 10am to 6pm every day (except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), there is also on-site car parking to use.

There’s plenty to stay entertained with around Yorkshire in late 2024

As the above shows, Yorkshire has lots to entertain residents and visitors alike as 2024 heads into its final months. Although the weather might start to get a little wetter or colder, the county still has many entertainment hotspots to check out.
