AllStar Youth Entertainment has been funded by Youth Music to deliver an exciting new music project for young people in the Bradford District.
The project aims to breakdown barriers around young people accessing music technology, increasing music making skills as well as empowering young musicians to lead and inspire through their music.
Evie Manning, Artistic Director of Commonspace, said:
“Youth-led sessions will be taking place at various venues throughout the district as well as at the newly opened Commonspace, a performance, music, arts and community space in Bradford City Centre. “Common Wealth are so excited to be working with AllStar Entertainment to transform a former youth employment centre into a place of creativity and opportunity for young people in Bradford today. Having AllStar and the young people they’re working with in the building is such an exciting journey for us to go on and we’re excited for the collaborations that will come from young people working together.”
-A forthcoming summer provision will include master classes in Music Production, MC’ing/rapping, DJ workshops, singing, events management, performance opportunities and more. As part of this project Allstar, have also teamed up with V.I.P. Studios to offer free music production software to young people in the Bradford District. V.I.P. Studios is a D.A.W. (Digital Audio Workstation) that can be accessed via any computer with access to the internet. The software allows the user to create, export and release their own musical creations of any style. Tutorials will cover a variety of genres including Grime, UK Rap Beats, AfroBeats & House music. Tuition will be provided both online and face-to-face with groups or individuals.
