Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the sale of Yorebridge House, a renowned luxury hotel, restaurant, and bar in the heart of Wensleydale.
The Grade II-listed hotel features 12 individually designed ensuite bedrooms, The Orangery restaurant, a cosy bar, a function room for events, and a Laurent Perrier wine-tasting room. Set within six acres of private grounds by the River Ure, it is conveniently located near the market towns of Hawes and Leyburn.
Yorebridge House has earned numerous accolades, including ‘Independent Hotel of the Year 2023’ at The Cateys, multiple Traveller’s Choice awards, and a top spot in TripAdvisor’s ‘Best of the Best’ rankings. The hotel has held 3 AA Rosettes since 2014 and was named the top hotel in Yorkshire.

Owners David and Charlotte Reilly have run the hotel for 19 years, building its strong reputation. Commenting on the sale, they said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed our years owning Yorebridge House and we are delighted to be handing over the reins to David and his team, who we know will nurture this fantastic business and its wonderful team of staff and continue to improve and develop it for a very exciting future.”

The hotel has been acquired by DWC Hotels, with Director David Whitehead outlining ambitious plans: “We are super excited about taking Yorebridge House on to its next chapter, with the development of a mini spa and barn conversion to add more accommodation. This is a unique venue and we are privileged to have been able to secure it and move forward in our business goals for the company.”
Jennifer Boynton, Associate at Hay & Kilner, who provided legal support for the acquisition, commented: “This purchase demonstrates that the leisure and hospitality industry remains buoyant. We wish DWC Hotels every success with this iconic boutique Dales hotel.”
David Lee, Regional Director – Hotels at Christie & Co, managed the sale and said: “Yorebridge House is one of the finest boutique hotels in the country. It was a privilege to be involved in the sale, and I wish David every success with his expansion plans.”
