Clockwise Leeds supports local foodbank providing emergency food to the most vulnerable
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Leeds, the flexible workspace operator which opened earlier this year, is marking its arrival into the community with a £5,000 donation to Leeds South and East Foodbank, helping it to support vulnerable individuals and families in the local area who require access to food.

Clockwise is passionate about creating environments for its members to flourish and achieve their full potential. This passion extends to the local community, particularly at a time when many are facing hardship exacerbated by the pandemic. The donation from Clockwise Leeds will help to ensure the community’s basic nutritional needs are being met, and help to reduce stress and anxiety around food poverty.

The Covid-19 pandemic has rapidly increased the issue of food poverty across the nation. South and East Leeds is no exception. Leeds South and East Foodbank has seen a 45 per cent increase in the need for its services, feeding more than 30,000 vulnerable people across the area since last March. The charity has seen new and different groups of people requiring access to its services, along with changes in existing clients’ circumstances, including those who have been furloughed, lost income, or faced redundancy.

Clockwise chose Leeds as its seventh location due to its thriving community of growing businesses and entrepreneurs and its launch comes at a time where many employees are seeking flexible working closer to home, in local settings – a need that Clockwise is facilitating as part of its regional expansion strategy.
