Yorkshire-based company, Corksol UK, has received top honours in the 2020 Build It awards, winning best sustainable product for its Corksol SprayCork.

The award, which recognises a product’s environmental credentials, was fiercely contended by leading brands and manufacturers from the construction industry, with the judges explaining SprayCork stood out as a truly sustainable product that makes excellent use of a renewable resource, in this case natural cork as an insulated render.

Joff Ward, managing director for Corksol, said: “The good news just keeps on coming for Corksol. First there was our grant from the Sustainable Innovation Fund and now this award that recognises the eco benefits of our existing product, SprayCork.

“Many products claim to have an environmental impact, but our cork render stands out as a true champion for sustainable manufacturing. A big thank you goes to the award organisers for creating a fantastic virtual event and to all the judges for recognising how this product lives up to its name of being the best sustainable product on the market.”

The Build It Awards 2020 are an annual event that celebrates all aspects of self-build and renovation, bringing together architects, manufacturers and key industry figures in recognition of innovation and excellence in the custom and self build home sector.
