Kirklees Council and Ad:Venture have partnered to co-sponsor Huddersfield Business Week, which is scheduled to take place during the week of 4th to the 8th October.

The week-long series of business events has been organised by Wild PR (formerly KC Communications) after its inaugural launch in 2019. The aim of the business week is to balance the spotlight across the towns and cities in the Leeds City Region, and to showcase the talent and outstanding businesses in the Huddersfield area.

In its first year, 40 events were hosted by a variety of Huddersfield businesses across the week which attracted visitors from neighbouring towns and cities and as far afield as Liverpool. During the 2019 event, which won a Raising the bar Award for its contribution to the local economy, hosts noted an increase in enquiries for their services.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Stuart Ross, Programme Manager at AD:VENTURE said: “We are passionate about supporting new and early stage businesses in their growth journey, as they play a critical role within the local economy. Working with our partners at Kirklees’s Council we aim to reach as many businesses as possible and offer them support, such as our dedicated Kirklees programme, Elevate.

Huddersfield Business Week is a fantastic way to reach this audience with our message, and we are delighted to be able to play a part in supporting the week’s activity through our sponsorship. We will also be hosting our Start Strong event on the 7th October for anyone who wants to meet the team and find out what we do”

Councillor Shabir Pandor, Cabinet Member for Business said: “We are delighted to support Huddersfield Business Week.  Many businesses across Kirklees have faced unprecedented challenges over the last 18 months.  Huddersfield Business Week provides a great opportunity to bring them together, to get the information and support they need to aid their recovery and to showcase the area’s business strengths.

“We are committed to working with our partners to support existing businesses and help new businesses to set up and thrive.  This is an exciting programme of events which offers relevant and timely information for businesses from all sectors, and I am thoroughly looking forward to the involvement of Kirklees Council and our team of local business experts.”

Katrina Cliffe, founder of Wild PR and Huddersfield Business Week added: “After a successful launch in 2019, Wild PR is delighted to be bringing Huddersfield Business Week back once again. During its inaugural year, businesses from a variety of sectors in the Huddersfield area came together to make it a success. As we emerge from the pandemic we hope that by hosting the business week once again it will support local businesses to flourish and enhance job opportunities. I want to thank Kirklees Council and Ad:Venture for their support in helping us to make this happen”.
