Weetons Food Hall’s Guide to The Perfect Picnic Foods
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

It’s the height of summer, it’s National Picnic Month and with the sun out in full force, picnics are extremely popular.

Having a picnic gathering is fun and exciting – but have you ever wondered, what to bring to a picnic? If so, don’t fret, here’s what you should be packing for your summer day out.

Sandwiches – Sandwiches never go amiss. Whether it’s coronation chicken or prawn cocktail, brown or white bread, sandwiches are a staple for your picnic basket.

Cheese – Cheese is a great addition to your picnic, with choices including red Leicester, cheddar and blue cheese, best kept fresh in a cool bag. Adding some crackers for everyone to enjoy will make you a picnic superstar.

Pork Pies – A British classic, pork pie. With a meaty interior and a perfect crumbly pastry on the exterior, pork pies are the ideal portable savoury treat for the summer season.

Nibbles – Nibbles can be forgotten about, but they are the very essence of a picnic. We recommend snacks which are easy to transport such as crisps, salamis, olives and pâté.

Cold Drinks – There’s nothing better than a cold beverage to wash down your tasty treats with, so make sure you bring some orange juice, lemonade or a couple of refreshing lagers, perfect for the summer.

Don’t forget glasses, cutlery and a cool bag, unless you want your deli treats to be melted.

Picnics are a great way of enjoying time outdoors with your friends and family in the summer season, but pulling everything together can seem stressful, Weetons Food Hall makes it easy for you.

Weetons Luxury Picnic Hampers include everything you need for a successful picnic and are filled with delicious fresh produce directly from their Food Hall. Including, a range of cheese from Barber’s Vintage Cheddar to Yorkshire Blue, delicious Champion homemade Pork Pies, Yorkshire Crisps and a variety of refreshing drinks such as Folkington’s Orange Juice and Lemonade (opt for the with Fizz option for a special treat!). These luxury deli goodies are packed up in a classic wicker hamper, with cutlery included – now there really is no excuse not to enjoy some time outdoors with your perfect picnic ready to go.
