An at-home tasting kit containing some of the world’s best gins has launched – just in time for World Gin Day and Father’s Day.
The York Gin Discovery Box includes five award-winning gins, each with a paired Fever-Tree mixer and dried garnish for a ‘perfect serve’ – and a YouTube tasting session with gin experts.
York Gin says the kit provides a night’s entertainment and education for gin lovers who want to expand their knowledge – and drink a range of different gins.
York Gin director Emma Godivala said: “It’s a brilliant drinking experience as lockdown continues to keep bars and pubs closed.”
The first live YouTube tasting session will be on World Gin Day (Saturday 13 June) at 7pm. The live tastings will then take place every fortnight at the same time. Customers who can’t make a live session can watch a recording on YouTube whenever they like.
The box also includes written tips on how to get the most out of tasting gin – perfected by staff in the York Gin shop – for people who don’t want to join the live session or watch a recording.
The company says it has launched the Discovery Box for people who enjoy a tasting experience but can’t make it to one because of lockdown.
They also think the boxes will make perfect gifts for lovers of the spirits who want to taste a range of different gins and learn about the different flavours.
The kit includes the company’s five award-winning gins – in the last year or so they’ve won a Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a Gold Outstanding at the International Wine & Spirit Competition and Gold at the Spirits Business Gin Masters.
The gins are: London Dry, Roman Fruit (a full-strength dry gin with no added sugar), Outlaw (Navy Strength), Old Tom and Grey Lady.
The Discovery Box is available from the York Gin website (price £45 with free next day UK-wide delivery).
