Azotea Brings a Taste of Latin America to Leeds with Exciting Rooftop Restaurant and Bar

Leeds is about to get a vibrant new addition to its culinary scene as Azotea, a Latin American rooftop restaurant and bar, prepares to open its doors this March. Promising an exceptional dining experience, Azotea will showcase the rich flavours of Latin America, from the Caribbean coast to the bustling streets of Mexico.

Food lovers can expect a menu bursting with authentic dishes that celebrate centuries-old cooking techniques. From bar snacks to sharing plates and tacos, every dish is designed to bring people together in true Latin American style. Head Chef Jared Webb commented: “Azotea is more than just a restaurant, it is a love letter to the rich and vibrant cultures of Latin America, and our menu has been carefully curated to reflect this.”

A Feast for the Senses

Azotea’s menu is set to impress, featuring everything from crispy pork rind with spiced apple dipping sauce to slow-roast beef brisket tacos topped with salsa verde and queso fresco. Diners can also look forward to signature dishes like the Brazilian Picanha Steak, aged for 28 days and grilled to perfection, and the Whole Grilled Sea Bream wrapped in banana leaves with citrus salaita.

Webb added: “The menu is designed to immerse diners in a remarkable culinary adventure, taking inspiration from the traditional flavours of over thirty countries. It is a tribute to the culinary traditions passed down through generations, with each dish crafted with fresh, natural ingredients and prepared with care.”

For seafood lovers, the ceviche selection promises fresh, bold flavours, while the Peruvian-inspired anticuchos will bring the smoky, grilled delights of South American street food to the heart of Leeds.

Cocktails with a Story

No Latin American dining experience would be complete without a carefully curated cocktail menu, and Azotea delivers. The drinks selection boasts a diverse range of tequilas, mezcals, and rums from across Latin America and the Caribbean. Each cocktail tells a story, inspired by the regions’ rich cultural and agricultural heritage.

Webb said: “Our signature cocktail offering is the product of in-depth research. The team have worked tirelessly on perfecting the spirits and flavour combinations from each region. Our aim is to introduce customers to new cocktail experiences and encourage them to try flavours they’ve never had before.”

Among the highlights is the Le Hora de la Fresa, a refreshing mix of gin, cascara vermouth, Fernet Branca, and strawberry, inspired by Argentina’s long-standing vermouth traditions. For something smoky and complex, the Corazón y Alma blends mezcal, reposado tequila, and Nixta corn liqueur, paying homage to Mexico’s deep-rooted connection with corn. The Sacred Valley cocktail, made with Peruvian Pisco, Aperol, and guava juice, offers a bright and bubbly option for brunch or evening drinks.

A Rooftop Oasis in the Heart of the City

Set to be an urban escape above the city’s bustling streets, Azotea’s rooftop setting promises a lively atmosphere. With panoramic views of Leeds’ skyline, a vibrant dining experience, and a drinks menu to match, it will be the perfect spot for everything from leisurely brunches to late-night cocktails.

Bookings open this weekend, so food and drink enthusiasts won’t have to wait long to experience Azotea’s Latin American-inspired offerings.
