Cinnamon Kitchen Leeds to Open Its Doors Next Month

Cinnamon Kitchen, the renowned modern Indian restaurant led by Executive Chef Vivek Singh, is set to open its first restaurant outside of London in Leeds on Saturday, 17th May. Located within the iconic Queens Hotel, the new venue will bring the restaurant’s bold, creative twist on Indian cuisine to the North for the very first time.

To mark the occasion, Cinnamon Kitchen Leeds is hosting a month of exciting city-wide activities. From 7th May, a branded tuk-tuk will tour Leeds, handing out exclusive tote bags filled with offers and treats. Five of these bags will contain golden Cinnamon Circle tokens, each offering a free three-course dinner for two at the new restaurant.

On 15th May, the tuk-tuk will park outside The Queens Hotel, where 100 lucky people can receive free chai samples, tote bags, and a chance to sign up for the Cinnamon Circle, the restaurant’s exclusive membership club. Members will enjoy 10% off dining for the first three months.

Founded in 2008 by celebrated chef Vivek Singh, Cinnamon Kitchen has become known for its fusion of traditional Indian flavours with modern culinary techniques. With frequent appearances on TV shows like Saturday Kitchen and MasterChef, Vivek is a well-known figure in the UK’s contemporary dining scene.

The new restaurant in Leeds offers an exciting menu inspired by the 2,355-mile journey of the Himsagar Express, blending regional Indian dishes with British influences. Guests can look forward to signature dishes like Masala Grilled Salmon and Old Delhi Butter Chicken, along with unique local creations like Seekh Kebab in the Hole and Curd & Cardamom Tart. Also on offer are new regional specials, including Ruhubarb Kadhi featuring Yorkshire rhubarb and Spiced Parkin – a dessert made with house spices and banana ice cream.

The venue’s design, located inside The Queens Hotel with direct access from Leeds Station, draws inspiration from the golden age of rail travel, with Art Deco touches and a hand-painted mural celebrating the colours of India.

Cinnamon Kitchen Leeds also introduces the Cinnamon Circle, a loyalty programme offering a range of perks for members, including a complimentary cocktail and 10% off every visit for the first three months. To join, diners simply need to scan the QR code on their tote bag or visit the restaurant’s website.

Vivek Singh commented, “Opening our first restaurant in the North is a big moment for us, those that know our restaurants will also know our love for iconic spaces and in that regard, there can be very few locations more iconic than the Queens Hotel in Leeds. Leeds is a city with a real appetite for bold, exciting food and a buzzing hospitality scene that we’re proud to now be part of. Cinnamon Kitchen is all about reimagining Indian cooking in a modern, creative way, celebrating local seasonal produce and our new menu showcases a host of new dishes celebrating local ingredients from the region.”

Alistair Campbell, General Manager at The Queens Hotel, added, “We’re really excited to welcome Cinnamon Kitchen to Leeds and to The Queens. We’ve worked closely together to create a destination that feels special from the moment you arrive, whether you’re just dropping in for chai or settling in for a dinner. This is more than a new restaurant; it’s a real addition to the Leeds food scene.”
