As part of its year-long 25th birthday celebrations, The Wardrobe in Leeds has given its kitchen and bar a fresh makeover, teaming up with local culinary experts Grilling Me Softly to launch an exciting new menu. This collaboration has resulted in a menu that showcases the best of local ingredients from Kirkgate Market, just a short stroll away, featuring everything from sandwiches and burgers to an array of small plates.
The Wardrobe’s bar also received a complete refurbishment in August, reopening with a new look, updated furnishings, and a state-of-the-art cellar system to ensure the freshest beer possible.
In addition to its revamped offerings, The Wardrobe is gearing up for a major celebration on Friday, 20th September, marking 25 years since it first opened its doors. The festivities don’t stop there—on Saturday, 14th September, the venue will host a special event honouring another beloved Leeds institution, The Cockpit, celebrating 30 years since its opening and 10 years since its closure.
Originally launched as a jazz venue in 1999, The Wardrobe has since become a cornerstone of Leeds’ cultural scene, hosting a diverse range of artists and comedians over the years, including Amy Winehouse, Lewis Capaldi, and Arlo Parks. With its newly revitalised space and a lineup of special events throughout the year, The Wardrobe continues to be a key player in the city’s vibrant hospitality and entertainment industry.
