This November, Hull is set to welcome an exciting new addition to its dining scene – One Steakhouse & Lounge, a 200-seat steakhouse restaurant and cocktail bar located in a striking 1930s building in the Witham area. Offering locally sourced Yorkshire produce, Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and a stunning rooftop cocktail bar with riverside views, the new venue promises to be a must-visit for food lovers in the region.
Set in a building that has stood empty for nearly a decade, One Steakhouse & Lounge breathes new life into the iconic space. With ground-floor seating, an intimate mezzanine, and a riverside rooftop bar, the revitalised interior blends modern luxury with the character of the building’s nearly century-old history. Co-owner Edison Motina said, “When I first saw the interior, I knew it had the potential to be a really vibrant place. The building has seen Hull through thick and thin and remains a key piece of the area’s history. It only felt right to show it the love it deserves and allow people from the present day to continue enjoying it.”
The steakhouse will be focused on showcasing exceptional-quality local produce, particularly meats sourced from Yorkshire farmers. The menu will feature a variety of premium, 32-day dry-aged steaks, including impressive sharing cuts such as tomahawk and porterhouse, alongside individual favourites like ribeye, T-bone, and fillet. Starters will include dishes such as king scallops and belly pork, goat’s cheese with roast peppers and a balsamic reduction, and shell-on tiger prawns cooked in garlic, chilli, and herb butter.
Motina said, “We decided early on to only serve locally sourced Yorkshire meat, which is something that is incredibly important to us. Our main aim has always been to offer the finest, freshest produce whilst supporting and celebrating our local farmers. I’m really proud of the menu our chefs put together.”
To complement the food, guests can enjoy a menu of artisanal cocktails and carefully selected wines, perfect for pairing with the variety of dishes on offer.
