Leeds’ dynamic wine scene is set to gain an exciting new addition as NoNo Wine Bar prepares to open its doors in March 2025. Situated in Arch U, Dark Arches, Granary Wharf, NoNo will offer a relaxed, judgment-free space for both seasoned wine lovers and newcomers, focusing on quality, terroir-driven wines in an inviting and accessible setting. NoNo is the latest project from Barrique Fine Wines, a respected West Yorkshire-based wine merchant known for its passion for “Bringing Wine to Life.” Taking over the former La Casita site, the 60-seat venue will feature a small retail space where guests can sample wines by the glass and purchase their favourites to enjoy at home.
Moving away from the sometimes intimidating world of wine, NoNo aims to remove unnecessary jargon and pretension, making wine discovery fun and approachable. With an ever-evolving selection, the bar will showcase emerging producers, diverse grape varieties, and unexpected gems, alongside iconic and cult-classic wines. Beyond wine, NoNo will offer a thoughtfully curated selection of premium spirits, beers, and soft drinks, all with a strong focus on sustainability and unique flavours.
Located next to the south entrance of Leeds Train Station, NoNo will attract a steady flow of commuters and locals alike. Granary Wharf is already a hub for hospitality, making NoNo an ideal destination for post-work drinks, casual evenings, and lively wine-fuelled conversations. “We believe wine should be about discovery, enjoyment, and sharing stories,” said Edd Simpson, founder of Barrique Fine Wines. “Our aim is to create a space where everyone feels comfortable exploring wine in a way that’s fun, engaging, and completely free of intimidation. We’re excited to offer an extensive wine list with over 50 wines by the glass, giving everyone the chance to discover the incredible diversity of wine.”
NoNo will empower guests to explore wines with confidence through an innovative, interactive digital menu that tailors recommendations based on personal taste preferences. Visitors eager to learn more can dive into detailed information on each wine, while friendly, knowledgeable staff will be on hand to provide guidance and recommendations.
