Today, Popeyes® UK marked the grand opening of its latest Drive-Thru on Plantation Way in Gildersome, West Yorkshire, drawing in over 100 eager fans waiting to experience the renowned Chicken Sandwich. Celebrating its fifth West Yorkshire location, this new Popeyes® brings the brand’s signature New Orleans flavour and hospitality to Leeds, with fans queuing around the block to be among the first to enjoy their famous crispy chicken.
Among the crowd were locals Vijay and Usman, who became the first to pass through the Drive-Thru after queuing specifically for the Chicken Sandwich. “I first tried Popeyes in Wakefield, and the chicken was just so juicy and succulent,” said Vijay. “When I saw it was opening so close to home, I knew I had to come down.” Usman, a loyal fan who often visits with his kids, added, “The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is next level, so when I saw Popeyes was coming to Gildersome, it was a must for me.”
The festivities today included free Chicken Sandwiches and limited-edition car-themed merchandise for the first wave of customers, giving the launch an extra celebratory touch. The new Gildersome location also created over 100 new jobs in the area, reinforcing Popeyes® commitment to growth within local communities.
To keep the excitement going, Popeyes® has launched a golden-wrapped Chicken Sandwich promotion that will run until Sunday, November 3. Each day, one lucky customer who finds the golden wrap will win free Chicken Sandwiches for a year.
Starting tomorrow, fans can also enjoy the New Orleans-inspired breakfast menu from 8-11 AM, which includes items like the Big Cajun Roll and Nutella-topped buttermilk biscuits.
