Popular Leeds café and bar brand Residence is set to open its latest venue in Moortown on Wednesday 21st May at 9am, bringing a fresh day-to-night concept to the heart of North Leeds.
Located in the former Barclays Bank building on Harrogate Road, the new space blends the comfort of a coffee shop with the sophistication of an evening cocktail bar. With seating for 100 inside and a heated outdoor terrace for 35, Residence Moortown is designed to welcome guests from morning through to night.
By day, the café will serve up quality coffee, hearty breakfasts and brunch dishes. As the evening draws in, the venue transforms into a lively yet elegant bar setting. The evening menu offers a range of small plates, including crispy arancini, baked meatballs and creamy Burrata with pesto, all ideal for sharing. A selection of pizzas also features on the menu, with standout options like Vodka Puttanesca, Pepperoni and Hot Honey, and Cheesesteak. These are paired with a list of expertly made cocktails.
One of the venue’s most unique features is the original bank vault, which has been converted into an intimate private dining room for special occasions. The combination of contemporary interiors and thoughtful design adds to the welcoming atmosphere throughout.
Moortown is the third location for Residence, which began life as a small café in Cookridge in 2018. A second site in Headingley opened in early 2023. Both have since become known for great food and a focus on friendly, attentive service.
