Leeds’ acclaimed South Indian restaurant, Tharavadu, is expanding its culinary footprint with the launch of a new rooftop restaurant, Uyare, in the city centre. Located at the former Issho site in Victoria Gate, the 7,000 sq. ft venue promises a distinctive dining experience inspired by the flavours and culture of Kerala.
Uyare, which translates to “high” in Malayalam, will seat up to 300 guests, offering a spacious environment for both loyal customers and new visitors. It includes a private dining room for 15 and distinct spaces like Bhoomi – The Earth restaurant, and Agni – The Fire bar. The menu will feature authentic Keralan dishes, presented in a small plates style, showcasing the bold and vibrant flavours that have made Tharavadu a favourite in Leeds for over a decade.
The bar, Agni, will serve a curated selection of wines, champagnes, crafted cocktails, and local beers. Plans are already in place to host themed nights, adding a lively twist to Leeds’ nightlife scene.
