Joel and Wes Taylor, brothers and co owners of Cut & Chase on Goodramgate, York, have conjured up a new cocktail inspired by the nations favourite boy wizard.
Since the opening of three shops on the Shambles, selling impressive ranges of Harry Potter themed products, York has found itself the grips of ‘Pottermania’. Now, fans of J K Rowling’s fantasy world can enjoy an alcoholic drink inspired by the iconic books and films. The ‘Have a Biscuit Potter’ cocktail is based on the famous Butterbeer sold at two public houses in fictional Hogsmeade – The Three Broomsticks and The Hogs Head.
‘This is a sweet and creamy cocktail that can easily be mistaken for a dessert’ said Joel.
Their version of Butterbeer mixes Butterscotch sauce, vanilla Vodka, Liqueur 43 and club soda then topped with homemade pumpkin-infused cream and served with a homemade pumpkin seed caramel biscuit.
Joel said “We also do an alcohol-free version for the under 18’s so Harry Potter fans of all ages can enjoy our twist on Butterbeer.”
The new Autumn winter cocktail menu is available now and sees new muddles and a couple of old favourites such as ‘The Great Blazer’ make a welcome return to the bar menu.
Cut & Chase are open daily from 10am for brunch, lunch, dinner and of course cocktails and drinks.
