Numerous reports have identified power cuts in various areas across Leeds and Northern Powergrid has offered advice.
Power cuts were first reported at around 12noon. A representative from the Powergrid team has said that over 2,000 homes have been affected and put the cuts down to an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment in the area. Power is predicted to be back up and running at 1.30pm.
A smaller power outage affected around 30 homes in the Headingley and Horsforth area, being reported first at around 8.30am this morning. The power was switched off for safety purposes due to work being carried out on cables in the area.
A number of homes in Morley have been affected, first being reported at quarter to 10 this morning. The issue arose due to unexpected problems with electricity cables in the area.
Power is expected to return by 2.30pm this afternoon.
