Leeds-based rising star, George Robinson, has landed a prime role in the brand-new CBeebies adaptation of the much-loved Oxford Reading Tree Books collection ‘Biff, Chip and Kipper’ by Roderick Hunt. The 10-year-old actor will be making his screen debut this autumn when the show airs, where he will be portraying the character of ‘Chip’ in the new series, titled Biff & Chip.
George trains at the renowned talent management and theatre training programme, Stagebox in Leeds and was a complete newcomer when he joined the team only two years ago.
Stagebox provides industry memberships for 5–18-year-olds by auditioning each year to find the best talent across the country, with a particular focus on the country’s major cities including Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
With Stagebox alumni starring on stage and screen, many securing lead roles for Disney, Netflix, in the West End and now CBeebies, Stagebox offers rising stars the chance to train smart, build industry connections and gain unrivalled opportunities in theatre, television and film.
Kirsti Bagger, Head Agent at Stagebox said: “We are so proud of George for making his screen debut. He had star potential when he first joined the Leeds Elite team and has gone from strength to strength. I’d encourage anyone who knows any youngsters that have a passion for performing to come down to our next audition tour – it could be the first step in a very exciting career!”
Stagebox is currently on the lookout for new undiscovered performers aged 8-18 years and is hosting a series of free auditions across the country this summer.
Biff & Chip will be coming to CBeebies and BBC iPlayer autumn 2021.
