Pat Dyminski, Lead Oncology Nurse at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, will attend a Royal community reception hosted by HM The King and HM The Queen on 30 April. Pat was invited by mobile cancer care charity Hope for Tomorrow, which works with NHS trusts to deliver treatment through mobile units.
The reception will celebrate community-based cancer support initiatives and raise awareness of the needs of cancer patients. Pat will attend alongside other supporters, volunteers, and partners of the charity, including its CEO, Tina Seymour.
Pat played a key role in securing a mobile cancer care unit for Airedale in 2018. The Trust and Hope for Tomorrow partnership now includes two units based at Airedale General Hospital. In the past year, the units have delivered treatment to 7,717 patients in communities including Settle, Skipton, Ilkley and Bingley.

Pat said: “I feel honoured, proud, and amazed that I have been chosen by Hope for Tomorrow to attend. The day the first mobile cancer care unit arrived was one of the best days of my career. It helps patients receive treatment closer to home, reducing fatigue and wait times, and improving the experience for both patients and staff.”
Hope for Tomorrow operates 14 mobile cancer care units and support vehicles across England in partnership with nine NHS hospital trusts. The units provided over 26,000 patient visits between 2023 and 2024, with many patients reporting savings on travel time and costs.
Tina Seymour, CEO of Hope for Tomorrow, said: “We are incredibly proud to be attending such a prestigious occasion. This recognition highlights the commitment of our teams and supporters who help us bring cancer care closer to those who need it.”
