City Cruises York will take part in York’s Dead Good Festival this May, providing a calm and reflective space to explore end-of-life options. The festival, running from 7 to 18 May 2025, is part of a national campaign supported by Dying Matters. It encourages open conversations about dying, death, and bereavement.
The festival will include a wide range of events across the city, such as performances, talks, crafts, and discussions. Many of these events are free to attend and aim to help people feel more confident about thinking through and planning for end-of-life matters, whether for themselves or loved ones.
As part of the programme, City Cruises York will host a special event on the River Ouse on Friday 16th May. The gathering will offer a peaceful setting to learn more about memorial services, scattering ashes, and holding wakes on the water. The City Cruises team will be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance in a supportive environment.
Ryan Christopher Coombs, Charter Sales Coordinator at City Cruises, said:
“We are honoured to be a part of York’s Dead Good Festival. We understand that thinking about end-of-life arrangements can be difficult, but we believe that offering a peaceful and unique setting like the River Ouse can provide comfort and clarity when exploring these options.”
Tickets for the event are limited to 40 and can be booked at: buytickets.at/citycruisesyork/1513530
