Declutter for Good: Support Sue Ryder with a Pre-Christmas Clear Out This Festive Season

National palliative care and bereavement charity Sue Ryder is encouraging everyone to embrace the festive spirit this year by having a pre-Christmas clear out. By donating once-loved items to a local Sue Ryder shop, you can help the charity support people facing the end of life or living with grief during the holiday season.

The charity is calling on the public to de-clutter cupboards, toy boxes, and wardrobes, giving unused items a new lease of life. Donated goods will not only help Sue Ryder raise vital funds but also provide shoppers with an affordable and sustainable way to find gifts and festive essentials.

“The build-up to Christmas is a hugely busy time for our shops,” said Anthony Barlow, Senior Regional Manager at Sue Ryder. “People are feeling the festive buzz, soaking up the atmosphere on the high street, and wanting to give something back. Our charity shops offer an affordable place to shop for gifts while raising funds to support people at the most difficult time of their lives.

“Having a good clear out now will free up space for any surprises Father Christmas has in store, and by donating, you’ll ensure people don’t grieve or die feeling alone and in pain at Christmas.”

Sue Ryder accepts a wide range of donations, including quality toys, clothes, household goods, electrical items, bric-a-brac, books, accessories, and collectables. The charity also welcomes furniture donations and offers a free furniture collection service, which can be booked via its website.

With nearly 400 shops across the UK, including locations on high streets, retail parks, and in shopping centres, all proceeds support Sue Ryder’s hospices, palliative care hubs, and bereavement services.
