Funstation has officially opened its latest venue in The Light, Leeds, offering a new space for games and activities in the city centre. The venue’s launch event, held on 10th April, welcomed guests from across the community, including local families, youth organisations and charity partners.
The evening included an exclusive preview ahead of the public opening, with many of the guests connected to causes that Funstation supports. Attendees included families from Rays of Sunshine, a charity supporting seriously ill children, members of Pontefract Collieries Football Club, and representatives from The Hunslet Club, a youth-focused organisation based in Leeds.
Councillor Abigail Marshall Katung, the Lord Mayor of Leeds, also attended the opening. After trying out some of the games on offer, she officially declared the venue open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Chris Alexander, spokesperson for Funstation, said:
“Opening in Leeds has been a big step for us. It was important to mark the occasion with the people and organisations we’ve connected with locally. We hope to become a valued part of the community here.”
During the event, Funstation highlighted its long-term partnership with Rays of Sunshine and made a £5,000 donation to the charity. Representatives from the organisation joined local Wish families for the celebration.
Located in The Light, Funstation Leeds offers a variety of activities including virtual reality games, interactive experiences, and traditional arcade favourites. It’s designed to be accessible for all ages and offers a cashless system via a top-up Funcard.
The venue is now open to the public. More information is available at: www.funstationuk.com
