Hotham Hall, a historic estate in East Yorkshire, has opened its doors to the public for the first time in 300 years following a three-year, multi-million-pound restoration. The estate, located in the picturesque village of Hotham, has been transformed into a premier venue for weddings, corporate events, and more.
Originally built in 1720 by William Burton, Hotham Hall was renowned for its elegance and grandeur. In 2020, Hull businesswoman Linda Kilburn and her husband, David Kilburn CBE, founders of MKM Building Supplies, acquired the estate with the aim of restoring it to its former splendour. The result is a stunning venue that now offers a range of elegant spaces for exclusive hire, including a beautiful Georgian Hall, expansive grounds for marquees and outdoor dining, and five luxury suites.
Linda Kilburn, Owner and Director, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the doors to Hotham Hall. Our goal has been to share the estate’s charm and history while ensuring its future for generations to come. The restoration has been a true labour of love, and we’re excited to host guests from around the world.”
The estate is now available for bespoke weddings, corporate gatherings, private dining, and charity events. Future plans include the addition of a luxury spa, a private members’ club, more event spaces, and additional accommodation, with completion anticipated in 2025/26.
Hotham Hall’s first wedding is scheduled for September, and bookings are now being taken for 2025 and beyond. For more information or to arrange a viewing, visit Hotham Hall’s website at www.hothamhallestate.com or contact Marketing & Events Director, Rachel Waugh.
