Children across the UK are being invited to take part in a colourful celebration of music and bowling as Hollywood Bowl launches its summer Design a Pin competition.
Open to kids aged 5 to 12, the nationwide contest asks young artists to create a music-themed bowling pin design, inspired by the artists and bands performing across the country this summer. The winning entry will be transformed into a life-size replica and displayed at the winner’s local Hollywood Bowl centre.
The competition opens on Friday 20 June 2025 and runs for over eight weeks, with the winning design set to be announced on Monday 18 August.
Alongside having their creation brought to life, the winner will be crowned Hollywood Bowl’s first ever Champ-Pin and will also receive an annual family bowling pass. Two runners-up will each win a free family bowling game pass.
Dave Williams, Operations Director at Hollywood Bowl, said:
“With this summer’s incredible lineup of artists and bands performing across the UK, we’re excited to bring the musical spirit to our bowling lanes. We invite our young bowlers to unleash their creativity and design a pin that hits all the right notes. We’re eager to see the striking designs that will celebrate this summer of music!”
To enter, children can submit their designs in one of three ways:
- By email to: competitions@hollywoodbowl.co.uk
- In person at their local Hollywood Bowl centre
- On Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #HWBsummerofmusic (with a photo of the design)
Parents and guardians can download a pin design template from the Hollywood Bowl website:

With plenty of fun on and off the lanes, Hollywood Bowl’s centres also offer an American-style diner, classic arcade games, and VIP lanes for families looking to make the most of their visit.
