Hollywood Cars Roll Into Sheffield for Meadowhall’s Motorfest

Some of the most recognisable vehicles in film and TV history are heading to Meadowhall on Sunday 1st June, as the shopping centre transforms into a car lover’s dream for this year’s Motorfest, all in support of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

From the lightning-fast Lightning McQueen and his best mate Tow Mater, to the legendary Batmobile and the nostalgia-packed Turtle Van from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there’s plenty to see and snap. Transformers fans can meet Bumblebee and the massive Optimus Prime truck, while the Pizza Planet car from Toy Story and the Mutt Cutts van from Dumb and Dumber will be turning heads too.

Now known as Motorfest, the event is back bigger than ever. More than 80 vehicles are expected, including vintage classics, motorcycles, tractors and sleek supercars. It’s a packed day for fans of all ages.

For those after more than a photo, the Sporting Bears Motor Club is offering ten-mile passenger rides in a range of supercars, all in exchange for a charity donation.

Alongside the motors, there’ll be live music, arts and crafts, and family-friendly entertainment running throughout the day.

Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “Whether you’re a supercar enthusiast, a classic car lover, or just looking for a fantastic family day out, Motorfest is the ultimate event this summer. We’re thrilled to be bringing an incredible showcase of vehicles to Sheffield, especially fan-favourite cars like Lightning McQueen, Optimus Prime and the Batmobile. There will absolutely be something for all members of the family to enjoy and we can’t wait to welcome visitors from Yorkshire and beyond for a truly unforgettable experience.

“Even better, the event supports an amazing cause, with proceeds from admissions and donations going to Bluebell Wood. As a long-term partner, the hospice does incredible work for children and families in our community, and we’re so grateful for the generosity of our visitors in helping to make a difference.”

Every penny raised will go to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, which provides care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. Their cheerful mascot, George, will also be on hand to greet visitors.

Bethany Lyons, Events Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, commented: “We’re incredibly excited to partner with Meadowhall for this year’s Motorfest.

“The generosity of our local community never ceases to amaze us, and we’re extremely grateful for their support. We look forward to welcoming visitors and raising vital funds to continue helping families when they need it most.”

Motorfest runs from 10am to 3pm on Sunday 1st June in Meadowhall’s Orange Zone 3 car park. Tickets start at £4 per person in advance or £5 on the day. Under 2s go free.
