Local charities across East Yorkshire are being encouraged to put themselves forward for a £1,500 donation, thanks to a monthly initiative from David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East.
The housebuilder, which is behind the Porters Way development in Driffield, is now accepting nominations from registered charities for its Community Fund. The fund supports one local charity each month with a donation of up to £1,500.
Charities interested in applying have until Friday 30th May to submit their nomination for the upcoming July, August and September rounds. Applications can be sent by email to yorkshireeastreception@barratthomes.co.uk.
The initiative is part of a wider programme led by The Barratt Foundation, which backs both national and local charities across the UK. The aim is to promote social inclusion and help people from all walks of life access the support they need.
So far this year, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East has donated over £9,000 to local causes. Previous recipients include Driffield & Wolds Food Bank, where team members also volunteered their time. The Snappy Trust in York used its donation to provide sensory equipment for disabled children and young people. Pocklington Rugby in the Community also received support for key local events, including Easter deliveries and the Local Volunteer Awards.
Sarah Hanna, Sales Manager at the Porters Way development, said:
“We are delighted to be opening nominations for our monthly Community Fund donations. The initiative is dedicated to supporting as many registered charities across the region, and we are delighted to have already supported so many deserving organisations with over £9,000 so far this year. We thoroughly look forward to welcoming more nominations and building relationships with more incredible charities.”
Registered charities across East Yorkshire are invited to apply now for a chance to receive funding and continue their vital work in the community.
