A magical festive adventure is coming to Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley, starting this Saturday, and it promises to enchant visitors with elves, real reindeer, and even a trip to the North Pole.
The family-run attraction is introducing its most ambitious Christmas event yet, featuring Santa’s Magical Elevator, a journey straight out of a storybook. This whimsical experience, described as “like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s magical elevator,” will whisk families through the clouds, immersing children in the magic of the season. For an extra dose of festive fun, visitors can also enjoy Santa’s Sleigh Ride in Virtual Reality.
Rob Nicholson, Director at Cannon Hall Farm, explained the journey back to a traditional Christmas experience after several years of adapting their events.
“We always had a very traditional Santa’s grotto experience, but when Covid hit in 2020, like many venues, we had to completely rethink our plans,” said Rob. “Since that point, we’ve offered many different Santa events, but we have never gone back to a traditional grotto.
“This year, the addition of the magical elevator has really taken things up a notch. The kids will be absolutely enchanted, and we can’t wait to see their faces.”
The Christmas excitement doesn’t stop there for Cannon Hall Farm, as its popular TV show, Winter on the Farm, returns to Channel 5 next week. Running from Tuesday to Friday at 8 pm, the programme brings viewers behind the scenes during the farm’s busiest time of year.
With festive experiences, famous farm animals, and a sprinkle of TV magic, Cannon Hall Farm is set to deliver a Christmas to remember.
