Carleton-in-Craven Pharmacy, a busy community pharmacy near Skipton, has been sold following the retirement of its founding owner, Jonathan Taylor.
Jonathan, who built the business from the ground up over 12 and a half years ago, made the decision to sell in order to step back from the profession. The pharmacy has now been acquired by Mpharm Holdings Limited, led by Zakar Hayat and Mubashir Ahmed, who also operate pharmacies in Sheffield and Burnley.
Situated in the heart of Carleton-in-Craven, the pharmacy dispenses close to 15,000 items each month and plays a key role in supporting local residents. Its services include medication deliveries via a fleet of three self-charging hybrid vehicles and the use of a BD Rowa Vmax robot to streamline dispensing. Two consultation rooms also support a growing range of patient services.
Commenting on the sale, Jonathan Taylor said, “After starting my pharmacy from scratch over 12.5 years ago, it was an incredibly tough decision to sell but I believe we have found the right buyer to hand the pharmacy over to. I wish Zakar and Mubashir all the best for the future.”
New co-owner Zakar Hayat added, “We feel like now is the right time to take on a new challenge — a modern, thriving and busy pharmacy set in the heart of the scenic village of Carleton. The previous owner, Jonathan, has built this wonderful project and we aim to further expand the reputation and array of services.”
The sale was handled confidentially by Christie & Co’s pharmacy specialist, Jon Booth, who said, “It is pleasing that the new owners have a vision to move this successful business forward. I look forward to seeing how that progresses and wish them the greatest of success.”
The final sale price has not been disclosed.
