Family-run businesses across Yorkshire and Humberside are being invited to step into the spotlight as nominations open for the 2025 Yorkshire & Humberside Family Business Awards. Now in its fourth year, the event celebrates the vital role family enterprises play in the region’s economy and communities.
Set to take place on Friday 21st November at The Royal Armouries in Leeds, the awards ceremony promises an evening of recognition and connection. With entertainment from local performers and bespoke trophies designed by regional artists, the event is known for its warm, personal atmosphere.
Organised by The Family Business Community, the awards highlight businesses that demonstrate strong values, innovation and commitment to their people and communities.
“These awards are all about heart,” said Sue Howorth, Co-Founder of The Family Business Community. “They recognise the passion, resilience and legacy that family businesses bring to the region.”

Dave Clarkson, fellow Co-Founder, added: “There’s something incredibly special about family businesses in Yorkshire and Humberside. Their stories, values, and commitment to their communities deserve to be seen and celebrated.”
Applications are open until Friday 26th September. Businesses can apply directly or nominate another family-run company. There are 17 award categories, including Employee of the Year, Purpose Driven Business, Leadership Excellence and the People’s Choice Award.
Entries will be judged by a panel that includes industry experts and previous winners, with a focus on fairness and transparency.
From heritage firms to new ventures, the awards offer a platform for businesses of all sizes to be recognised for their work and values.
