Gleeson Homes, the affordable housebuilder, is delighted to announce that it has obtained planning permission for a new development in the popular seaside town of Hornsea, called Mariner’s View.
The 19.5 acre plot of land will deliver 195 high quality, low-cost 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes to the local area, which has witnessed great demand from potential homeowners. The properties will use Gleeson Homes’ rural elevation style and will include plots with air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points and chimneys to ensure the development is in keeping with the characteristics of the local community. Renowned for its sandy beaches and tiered seafront promenade, Gleeson Homes expects to see a mixture of first-time buyers and second steppers interested in this idyllic development.
Construction at Mariner’s View is expected to start later this year, with show homes and the first plots for sale due to be released in Spring 2024. Mariner’s View is the latest in a number of recent Gleeson developments in East Yorkshire and the Humber region.
As part of its commitment to the local community, Gleeson will contribute almost £800,000 to the local amenities which include £280,000 towards education, £269,217 towards outdoor sports facilities and £155,428 towards a local play area.
Wayne Sutton, Gleeson’s Regional Managing Director for Yorkshire East, commented:
“At Gleeson Homes, we are passionate about delivering affordable, high-quality homes for local people, whether they are young, first-time buyers, families or downsizers. We are thrilled to have secured another fantastic site in Hornsea, where we can help hundreds more people in need onto the housing ladder.”
Gleeson is seeking local labour and sub-contractors to work on this exciting new development, including applications from local young people who are interested in joining the Gleeson apprenticeship scheme.
