WCF Pet & Equestrian in Skipton is extending its successful charity initiative for a second year, offering customers the chance to support local dog rescue charity, Aireworth Dogs in Need, by purchasing pre-filled donation bags.
Available in different values up to £10, these donation bags contain essential items such as food, supplements, toys, treats, and healthcare products. All proceeds go directly to Aireworth Dogs in Need, a volunteer-run organisation based in Keighley, which provides foster-based rescue services for dogs across the Aire, Worth, and Craven valleys.
Store Manager Carol Clifford, based at WCF’s Cavendish Street location, said: “Supporting local charities is really important to us, and the team is fully behind this effort. In addition to the donation bags, we promote the charity’s fundraising through our social media and in-store events, and we’re also making a company financial contribution this year.”
The fundraising scheme, now in its second year, is part of a wider campaign across all eight WCF Pet & Equestrian stores in North Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, and south-west Scotland, with each store choosing a local charity to support. Skipton’s store remains committed to Aireworth Dogs in Need, a small, independent rescue group run entirely by volunteers.
Caroline Porter, from Aireworth Dogs in Need, said: “Donations like these are crucial for us, particularly in funding vital veterinary treatments to keep dogs healthy and pain-free. We’re so grateful for the ongoing partnership with WCF.”
As part of the campaign, WCF Pet & Equestrian is donating three per cent of the money redeemed in-store through its loyalty card scheme. The charity can also request specific items for inclusion in the donation bags, ensuring the support is tailored to their needs.
The pre-filled donation bags are available from a dedicated stand in the Skipton store, where customers can pick them up and contribute to helping local dogs in need.
