The Broadway’s Festive Launch Set to Dazzle Bradford This November!

The Broadway’s Festive Launch is making a grand return to Bradford this year, and excitement is already building for the big event on Saturday 9th November. Now in its seventh year, this free event has become a staple in the city’s festive calendar, and once again, The Broadway will be hosting Bradford’s official Christmas lights switch-on, kicking off the holiday season in style.

Ian Ward, General Manager at The Broadway, said, “Our Festive Launch is a great way to kick off the Christmas season, so I’m really pleased that we are on countdown until the 9th November. We aren’t giving away much at the moment, but as always, we will welcome acts that the whole family will love.”

One of the highlights of this year’s Festive Launch is the return of Broadway Voices, a choir competition that gives school, community, and church choirs the chance to shine. The winning choir will not only perform live at the event but also receive a £500 Bradford city gift card. Ward said, “It’s great news that Broadway Voices is returning. We’ve had a fantastic response so far, so I’m very excited to see who will be crowned the winner.”

In partnership with Heart Yorkshire, this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better. Liz Paver, Station Director at Heart Yorkshire, said, “We are thrilled to be partnering with The Broadway for this iconic event again. Covering West and South Yorkshire, we want to show our large audience that The Broadway is THE place to kick off Christmas in Yorkshire. We have had lots of fun pulling together an action-packed show with lots of surprises along the way and entertainment for young, old, and everything in between.”

Each year, The Broadway attracts thousands of shoppers to its Festive Launch, and this year’s event is expected to draw even more as the city gears up for its City of Culture status in 2025. Ward added, “Our Festive Launch attracts thousands of shoppers, so each year we try and better the previous year. The Festive period will lead us into Bradford being City of Culture in 2025, so we’ll have even more cause for celebration when that kicks off.”

With performances, competitions, and guest appearances still to be announced, there’s plenty of festive excitement to come. For all the latest updates, visit www.broadwaybradford.com and get ready for a day full of holiday magic on 9th November!
