Oktoberfest, Folk, Food & Beer in the Dales

Oktoberfest is known the world over and quite rightly it’s a bit of a thing, especially for the Black Bull, Sedbergh’s, co-owner and head chef Nina Matsunaga, who was born in Germany.

Which is why for the first time ever the team at the Black Bull have decided to push to boat out and pay homage to the annual celebration in style with a folk music, beer, and food celebration in The Stables and The Meadow.

The Black Bull’s Oktoberfest one day event will take place on Saturday 30th October, with proceedings getting underway at 12 noon with music throughout the day provided by a selection of local folk bands including the Moonshine Shakers.

But that’s not all there will be a selection of craft beers available from The Stables outdoor bar served up to the thirty socially distanced tables arranged ‘bierkeller style’ under pergolas in The Meadow, providing guests with an authentic outdoor beerhall experience, as they soak up the atmosphere, enjoy a drink, a bite to eat, and loads of live music, while staying snug and dry.

As well as an extensive selection of guest beers, the team will also be serving up their famous sourdough pizzas and sides.

Either way it’s going to be an Oktoberfest weekender, full of good cheer, delicious food, amazing live folk music, and lots of great beer…. so, head along and enjoy Sedbergh’s version of a German inspired party.
