However, this vibrant West Yorkshire city&#8217;s hospitality scene is far more diverse than you may think. There are numerous restaurants scattered around the city offering a variety of cuisines, from a long-established family-run Italian serving perfect pizza and pasta to a Michelin-recognised vegetarian restaurant that has been turning committed carnivores into converts since 1992. There&#8217;s something to suit most tastes and budgets in Bradford, and in 2026, the food scene is better than it has ever been.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Updated for 2026, here are some of the best restaurants in Bradford, from long-standing local institutions to award-winning venues that have firmly put Bradford on the national food map.</p><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bradford&#8217;s Best Curry Houses</h2><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Shimlas</strong></h3><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1440" height="1440" src="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/474626693_18370364791190339_2185420032672659957_n.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-41815" srcset="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/474626693_18370364791190339_2185420032672659957_n.jpg 1440w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/474626693_18370364791190339_2185420032672659957_n-300x300.jpg 300w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/474626693_18370364791190339_2185420032672659957_n-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/474626693_18370364791190339_2185420032672659957_n-150x150.jpg 150w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/474626693_18370364791190339_2185420032672659957_n-768x768.jpg 768w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/474626693_18370364791190339_2185420032672659957_n-600x600.jpg 600w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/474626693_18370364791190339_2185420032672659957_n-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">IMAGE: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/shimlasrestaurant" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Shimlas</a></figcaption></figure></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>121-125 Great Horton Road, Bradford BD7 1PS</em></strong></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Shimlas is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. The Lamb Nihari and Palak Daal are frequently cited as some of the best in the North, and their Dynamite Chicken has become a modern Bradford staple. Because the menu spans everything from authentic Karahis to burgers and pasta, it is the ultimate &#8220;safe bet&#8221; for large groups or families where tastes may vary. Set across a large, beautifully decorated dining room, it&#8217;s a step up in scale and occasion from most Bradford curry houses, and the menu reflects that ambition.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">The kitchen specialises in authentic Kashmiri and Punjabi cuisine, with a vast menu spanning classic karahi dishes, tandoori grills, biryanis and a legendary breakfast menu that has its own devoted following. The Chana Puri and Seekh Kebabs are considered Bradford staples, and the quality of the cooking, with dishes rooted in traditional recipes refined over generations, is consistently excellent. Situated in a beautifully converted pub in Drighlington, just a short drive from Bradford city centre, Prashad has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand for several consecutive years, holds 2 AA Rosettes, featured in the 2025 Good Food Guide and was runner-up on Gordon Ramsay&#8217;s Ramsay&#8217;s Best Restaurant &#8211; a remarkable collection of accolades for a family-run vegetarian restaurant.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">The story behind it is wonderful, too. Kaushy and Mohan Patel opened Prashad as a Bradford community deli in 1992, serving authentic Gujarati snacks and dishes. Their son Bobby and his wife Minal now run the restaurant together, with Minal overseeing the kitchen since 2004 and maintaining all the warmth and precision that earned the original deli its loyal following. The menu specialises in Gujarati and North Indian vegetarian cuisine &#8211; and even committed meat eaters consistently report that they don&#8217;t miss it for a single second. The mixed sharing starters alone are worth the journey, and the 7-course tasting menu is genuinely exceptional value for the quality on offer.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">There&#8217;s a fully stocked bar with locally-brewed beers, wines and fresh cocktails made by the in-house mixologist, and the open-pass kitchen lets you watch Minal&#8217;s team at work. Booking is essential &#8211; this one fills up fast.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://www.prashad.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Visit Prashad website</a> | <a href="https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g668552-d720355-Reviews-Prashad-Drighlington_Leeds_West_Yorkshire_England.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TripAdvisor Reviews</a></p><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Mezza</strong></h3><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1440" height="1440" src="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/500520229_18082403218667544_1405906131275728904_n.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-41820" srcset="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/500520229_18082403218667544_1405906131275728904_n.jpg 1440w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/500520229_18082403218667544_1405906131275728904_n-300x300.jpg 300w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/500520229_18082403218667544_1405906131275728904_n-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/500520229_18082403218667544_1405906131275728904_n-150x150.jpg 150w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/500520229_18082403218667544_1405906131275728904_n-768x768.jpg 768w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/500520229_18082403218667544_1405906131275728904_n-600x600.jpg 600w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/500520229_18082403218667544_1405906131275728904_n-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px" /></figure></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><em><strong>Legrams Mill, Legrams Lane, Bradford BD7 1NH</strong></em></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Bradford made national food news in February 2025 when Mezza was named Best Lebanese Restaurant at the prestigious British Kebab Awards. With entries from restaurants across the entire UK, this accolade was a monumental win for the city. It is a richly deserved honour for a restaurant that has quietly built an outstanding reputation among Bradford&#8217;s food lovers over many years.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mezza serves authentic Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine within the warm, welcoming setting of the historic Legrams Mill. The menu is built around the classics done brilliantly—think mezze platters loaded with silken hummus, crisp fattoush, tabbouleh, and kibbeh, alongside chargrilled meats served straight from the grill.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">With slow-cooked lamb dishes that fall off the bone and freshly baked flatbreads perfect for dipping, the flavours here are consistently vivid. The portions are generous, and the service is genuinely hospitable, making it easy to see why this has become one of Bradford’s most talked-about dining destinations. For those seeking award-winning authenticity, Mezza is an essential stop on the city’s culinary map.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://mezzarestaurants.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Visit Mezza website</a></p><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Cona</strong></h3><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1280" height="1600" src="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/471543419_18476269639045717_2844106118653756114_n.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-41821" srcset="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/471543419_18476269639045717_2844106118653756114_n.jpg 1280w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/471543419_18476269639045717_2844106118653756114_n-1229x1536.jpg 1229w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/471543419_18476269639045717_2844106118653756114_n-600x750.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></figure></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>20 East Parade, Little Germany, Bradford BD1 5HD</em></strong></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Tucked into the beautiful Victorian architecture of Bradford&#8217;s Little Germany district, Cona is one of the most sophisticated dining experiences in the city. A luxury halal steakhouse with a minimalist, designer interior &#8211; think mood lighting, leather booths and an impressive open kitchen &#8211; it specialises in internationally sourced, naturally graded beef at the very top end of the quality spectrum. Halal Wagyu from Japan and Salt Aged Dexter from Cumbria sit alongside USDA Prime cuts, with the kitchen applying real finesse to every plate.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s not a casual midweek dinner destination &#8211; Cona is somewhere you go to celebrate, impress or treat yourself to something genuinely special. The truffle tagliatelle and the chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream appear in almost every glowing review. Found in the centre of Bradford, this family-run gem has won the hearts of many a local over the years and shows absolutely no sign of slowing down. As the name suggests, they specialise in Persian cuisine &#8211; a cuisine that deserves far more attention than it typically receives in British food culture, and Classic Persian is a fine ambassador for it.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">The menu is split into Hot and Cold Starters, Stew Specials and Charcoal Grill Mains. The Charcoal Grill is the main event here, and although the dishes may sound adventurous to those unfamiliar with Middle Eastern cuisine, very few diners leave Classic Persian disappointed. Tonnes of character, welcoming service and reliably excellent food at fair prices. You can tuck into favourites like their signature Chicken Parmesan, a zesty Pork Stir Fry, or a Roasted Jerk Chicken Thigh served with authentic jerk rice. For those with a sweet tooth, the brunch even includes dessert options like Biscoff Cheesecake or Warm Cookie Dough. Excellent value for money!</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you’re planning to head down, just keep in mind that booking isn&#8217;t quite as simple as a single click. To secure your spot for that legendary bottomless brunch, you actually need to give them a quick ring first on <strong>01274 973909</strong> to confirm your table and time slot.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Once you’ve spoken to the team, you’ll be asked to head over to their website to pay a £5 table deposit. It’s important to wait until you’ve had the &#8220;all clear&#8221; on your time slot before paying, as the deposit alone doesn&#8217;t guarantee your booking. Once that fiver is paid, your table is officially confirmed, and you’re all set for the weekend!</p><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><h3 class="wp-block-heading">Symposium Bar &amp; Kitchen</h3><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1080" height="1080" src="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/584614177_1421785269951545_6116061565366942512_n.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-41526" srcset="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/584614177_1421785269951545_6116061565366942512_n.jpg 1080w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/584614177_1421785269951545_6116061565366942512_n-300x300.jpg 300w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/584614177_1421785269951545_6116061565366942512_n-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/584614177_1421785269951545_6116061565366942512_n-150x150.jpg 150w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/584614177_1421785269951545_6116061565366942512_n-768x768.jpg 768w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/584614177_1421785269951545_6116061565366942512_n-600x600.jpg 600w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/584614177_1421785269951545_6116061565366942512_n-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></figure></div><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Where:</strong> <em>7 Albion Road, Idle, Bradford BD10 9PY</em></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>When: </strong><em>Friday 3:00 &#8211; 6:00 pm, Saturday 1:00 &#8211; 6:00 pm</em></p><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Symposium Bar &amp; Kitchen in Idle is an excellent Bradford brunch spot if you’re happy to venture a little out of the city centre. The cost is £38 per person if you choose a dish from their standard brunch menu, which includes treats like a classic club sandwich with chicken and bacon (or halloumi and avocado for the veggies) and a creamy goat’s cheese melt with red pepper and spinach on grilled ciabatta. Other highlights include the spicy chicken flatbread and their vegan-friendly avocado sourdough topped with cherry tomatoes and sesame seeds.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you really want to lean into the elegance of the venue, you can choose to pair your bottomless drinks with their luxurious afternoon tea menu for £40 per person instead. This includes tiers of finger sandwiches, savoury bites, and homemade scones. In both cases, your bottomless drinks selection includes house lager, prosecco, selected spirit mixers, and a range of carefully chosen cocktails, ensuring there is something to suit every taste while you soak in those 1920s vibes.</p><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Burnt Bear</h3><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1280" height="1600" src="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/470216292_18047389160321099_1338673680905840627_n.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-41528" srcset="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/470216292_18047389160321099_1338673680905840627_n.jpg 1280w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/470216292_18047389160321099_1338673680905840627_n-1229x1536.jpg 1229w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/470216292_18047389160321099_1338673680905840627_n-600x750.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></figure></div><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Where:</strong> <em>41-43 Main Street, Haworth BD22 8DA </em></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>When:</strong> <em>90-minute slots on Saturdays at 12 pm and 2:30 pm</em></p><div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you are looking for the most &#8220;city-style&#8221; bottomless experience right on the historic cobbles of Haworth’s Main Street, The Burnt Bear is where you want to be. The family-run gastropub is housed in a former Wesleyan chapel house and offers guests a warm welcome and delicious, freshly cooked meals. </p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Food is served on Sunday between 12:30 and 5:30pm and the Sunday menu features a tantalising array of gorgeous grub. This is another excellent Bradford eatery offering multiple courses for a fixed price. Choose one course for a very reasonable £13.95, two for £16.95 or three for £19.95. Meat choices are beef or turkey and each comes with all the expected trimmings. Those with a larger appetite or those who prefer to share between two can pay extra and order the <strong>Loaded Lunch</strong> (£18.95), featuring both meats plus extra roasties and Yorkies. For an alternative Sunday lunch, perhaps opt for the <strong>Sunday Burger</strong> which comprises a brioche fun filled with both meats and a slice of cheese plus chunky chips and a pot of gravy for dunking and dipping. </p><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><a href="https://www.theringobells.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Visit Website</a></strong></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><a href="https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186408-d1098474-Reviews-Ring_O_Bells-Bradford_West_Yorkshire_England.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TripAdvisor Reviews</a></strong></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p><h3 class="wp-block-heading">Halfway House</h3><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1600" height="1434" src="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/357433470_716834943785889_6838637494754143665_n.jpg" alt="Sunday lunch in Bradford" class="wp-image-26624" srcset="https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/357433470_716834943785889_6838637494754143665_n.jpg 1600w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/357433470_716834943785889_6838637494754143665_n-1536x1376.jpg 1536w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/357433470_716834943785889_6838637494754143665_n-750x672.jpg 750w, https://theyorkshirepress.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/357433470_716834943785889_6838637494754143665_n-1140x1021.jpg 1140w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">IMAGE: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063781681355" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Halfway House</a></figcaption></figure></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>43 Otley Road, Baildon, Shipley BD17 7JP</em></strong></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Halfway House is a Chef &amp; Brewer venue in Baildon serving local ales and seasonal menus of good quality pub food favourites.
