Sales Surge at Trinity Leeds as Shoppers Return to the High Street

Trinity Leeds has reported a strong rise in sales and footfall, as new store openings and a sunny spring helped draw shoppers back to the high street.

Data from owner Landsec shows that shopping sales at the centre rose by 15.7% year-on-year between April and June. Homewares were a particular standout, with sales soaring by 130% compared to the same period last year. Health, beauty and fragrance products also saw a boost, up 15.1%.

The rise in spending comes alongside a 4.7% increase in footfall, suggesting a clear appetite for in-person shopping. Popular new openings at Trinity Leeds, including Zara, Clarks and Søstrene Grene, are helping to drive the centre’s success.

Steven Foster, Centre Director at Trinity Leeds, said: “We’re thrilled to see such a strong uplift in both footfall and sales. These results speak volumes about the continued appetite for experience-led, in-person shopping, and reinforce the vital role physical retail plays in today’s landscape.

“Destinations like Trinity Leeds – where guests can enjoy compelling shopping experiences with a strong mix of brands – offer something truly special. It’s this unique mix that keeps us outperforming and evolving.”

The update follows a strong quarter across Landsec’s wider retail portfolio, and comes on the heels of a record-breaking year for the company. The results reflect its strategy of investing in high-performing retail destinations that continue to attract both shoppers and brands.

Adding to the buzz, Trinity Leeds has also launched Trinity Kitchen Sessions – a new live music spot running every Thursday evening throughout August. From 6pm to 8pm, visitors can enjoy live performances from local buskers while grabbing a bite to eat, with no tickets or bookings required.
