The Grand in York is offering a Wizarding Afternoon Tea this summer, pairing themed sweet and savoury treats with the hotel’s award-winning service.
Inspired by York’s history and the hotel’s own stories, the menu has been created by Head Pastry Chef Devin Jones and Executive Head Chef Kevin Bonello. It features savoury dishes such as asparagus, celeriac and shallot quiche topped with goat’s cheese, smoked salmon with dill crème fraiche, coronation chicken with pickled heritage carrots, smoked beef brisket with mustard-honey mayonnaise, and a pork, cheddar and fennel seed sausage roll.

Freshly baked plain and raisin scones are served with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam, alongside patisserie including mango mousse with orange tapioca, a chocolate dacquoise with raspberry, a Valrhona chocolate mousse with sea buckthorn glaze, and a chocolate log with dulce de leche.
Each tea is served with a choice of themed drinks such as Hudson’s Whipped Brew, an Enchanted Cauldron Float or a Colour Changing Concoction. The Grand’s approach blends traditional afternoon tea with playful, magical touches.
Known for its grand architecture and attentive service, the hotel provides an exceptional experience for visitors to York, as well as for those staying with us. The Wizarding Afternoon Tea is available throughout the summer.
