Lindum House care home in Beverley is inviting local older residents to join staff and current residents for a Christmas Day lunch as part of an initiative to combat loneliness.
Guests will enjoy a three-course meal in the home’s dining room, with the opportunity to take part in festive activities afterwards. The ‘Don’t Dine Alone’ initiative, launched by Barchester Healthcare, aims to support isolated or vulnerable members of the local community.
The home’s Head Chef, Matt, will prepare all dishes from scratch using fresh produce.
Jayne Clarke, General Manager at Lindum House, said: “Loneliness and isolation can have a huge impact on people, especially older members of the community at Christmas time. We want all our neighbours to know that they are welcome to come and dine with us here at Lindum House. We very much hope that anyone feeling lonely will join us for a Christmas Lunch.”
Lindum House is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers. The home offers residential and nursing care, from respite breaks to long-term stays, and is committed to providing personalised care to its residents.
