Families are in for a treat this February half-term at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford, as the Yorkshire Games Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary from 11–22 February.
The festival brings a packed programme of gaming fun for all ages. Big Screen Gaming returns, letting up to four players go head-to-head on Nintendo favourites like Super Mario Party, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros. Comedy and interactive show Wifi Wars will be back on 19 February, hosted by Steve McNeil, giving audiences a chance to play along and compete.
The festival’s Showcase highlights the next generation of game developers, while board games, charity sessions from YGAM, and activities from the National Videogame Museum add even more ways to explore the world of gaming safely.
Beyond games, the museum’s permanent attractions are perfect for families. Explore the new Sound and Vision galleries, get hands-on in Wonderlab, or visit the Kodak Gallery to discover the history of photography. Visitors can also enjoy the immersive digital experience YOU:MATTER or play classic arcade games in Power Up.
Pictureville Cinema will host £3 Kids Club screenings, featuring films such as Detective Pikachu and The Lego Batman Movie. Entry to the museum is free, with ticketed experiences available for specific activities.
