A couple who celebrated their own wedding at Ox Pasture Hall a decade ago have stepped in to save the venue after it fell into liquidation. Wesley and Chloe Nunns, successful business owners with an accountancy background, have purchased the Grade II listed country house hotel near Scarborough with a mission to restore it to its former glory.
The 39-bedroom hotel, located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, entered liquidation in early 2025. Despite the venue being closed during the sale process, the sentimental value and the potential of the 17-acre estate proved too much for the couple to pass up. The property features 19 suites, a purpose-built wedding barn, and a luxury spa equipped with saunas, a gym, and a heated indoor pool.
Wesley and Chloe Nunns commented: “We are incredibly excited to begin our journey with the hotel and bring it back to life! The hotel holds a lot of sentimental value for us as we got married here ourselves ten years ago. We know the hotel has so much potential and we hope to become one of the best wedding venues in North Yorkshire! This is a very exciting new challenge for us, but we know it will be worth it.”

The sale was managed by specialist business property adviser Christie & Co on behalf of Revive Business Recovery. While the hotel’s closed status presented a challenge, the demand for a property of this scale between Scarborough and Whitby remained high.
Mark Worley, Director – Hotels at Christie & Co, commented: “Despite Ox Pasture Hall being in liquidation, we knew that the demand for a hotel of this size in this location would be healthy, however its closed status could present a challenge for some buyers. However, it was a superb opportunity for the right buyer to restore the building and the business to their former glories, and we are delighted to announce the sale to Wesley and Chloe Nunns, successful business owners with an accountancy background.”
He added: “This was a great team effort from all involved, and we would like to thank Claire at Revive as well as lawyers John Morgan at Hay & Kilner and John Cooper at Wilkes, whose expertise and experience helped to get the deal completed in a very timely fashion. We wish Wesley and Chloe all the best with their new venture.”
