The Scarborough Fair is set to return for its 2026 summer season, bringing a vibrant programme of over 170 events to almost 50 venues across the seaside resort. Running from May to August, the fair is now in its third year and features three flagship festivals alongside the environmental and heritage programme, Big Ideas by the Sea.
The season kicks off with Scarborough Streets (29–31 May), a weekend of free outdoor performances and street art. This is followed by Scarborough Fringe (12–21 June), which includes the new Fringe Streets event on 13 June. The season concludes with Scarborough Art (4 July – 2 August), featuring the first-ever Scarborough Art Fair in the town centre on 4 July.

Local mosaic artist Gabrielle Naptali, who is returning for her second year, praised the fair for encouraging residents and visitors to “think differently” about the town. Her studio, Scarborough Mosaic Workshop, will host sessions throughout July where participants can create 3D “Seaside Mosaic Postcards” using shells, pebbles, and slate.
Cllr Simon Myers said: “The Scarborough Fair has become a real highlight of our cultural calendar, bringing creativity, colour and energy into every corner of the town. This summer’s programme is a fantastic invitation to residents and visitors alike to experience Scarborough at its very best.”
Mayor David Skaith added: “I’m backing community-led projects across York and North Yorkshire like Scarborough Streets which will drive footfall and business to the high street area of Scarborough.”
The fair is supported by a grant of £149,479 from the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Vibrant and Sustainable High Street Fund. For a full schedule and tickets, visit www.scarboroughfair.uk or pick up a brochure from local libraries and tourist attractions.
