Northern Monk Announces 10th Anniversary Hop City Festival at Leeds Project House

Hop City, the UK’s very first hop-led beer festival created by award-winning Leeds brewery Northern Monk, is officially returning next year for a landmark 10th birthday celebration across two sessions on Saturday 15th May 2027.

Taking place at popular Leeds venue Project House for the first time, Hop City 10 is set to be the brewery’s largest festival to date. The expanded event will feature over 300 beers from 50 world-class producers, a major step up from this year’s 35, bringing top-tier breweries to Leeds from across the US, Europe, and the UK.

The initial wave of guest announcements includes legendary names from Hop City’s history. Vermont-based The Alchemist, widely regarded as a pioneer of the hazy beer style synonymous with the festival, will join Northern Monk for the first time since the very first Hop City. Delaware’s Dogfish Head, another highly respected US icon, will also return to pour at the festival for the first time since 2023.

Joining the US heavyweights will be a stellar lineup of acclaimed European and UK breweries, including To Øl (Denmark), Whiplash (Dublin), Verdant (Cornwall), Wylam (Newcastle), and Beak (Bristol). The 2027 edition will also significantly expand its no-and-low alcohol roster and non-beer options, featuring the likes of Manchester’s Stiff Tea Brewing Company and their signature Hard Kombucha.

Tickets to Hop City include entry to a chosen session, access to all live entertainment, an exclusive commemorative Hop City 10 glass, and all sample pours throughout the session.

Marking a decade of forward-thinking brewing, Hop City 10’s move to Project House offers significantly more indoor and outdoor space for guests than the festival’s previous home at Northern Monk’s Old Flax Store. As a renowned music venue, Project House will also allow the festival to scale up its live entertainment and music programming to match the scale of the anniversary.

Northern Monk will share further details regarding the full brewery lineup, food vendors, and musical artists in the coming months. General admission tickets are officially on sale now.

Russell Bisset, Founder of Northern Monk, commented: “It’s hard to believe that we’re celebrating a decade of Hop City. We’re pulling out all the stops for its 10th anniversary, taking everything people already love about the festival to the next level whilst bringing in new experiences, collaborations and features that we’ve never had the space to deliver before.

“We’re also excited to be welcoming some of our brewing heroes to Leeds, including the founders of US breweries Alchemist, Dogfish Head and Other Half, who will all be flying over to Leeds. These are people and breweries that we’ve admired for years, so to have them join us to celebrate 10 years of Hop City is really special. Whether you’ve been with us since year one or are joining us for the first time, this will be our biggest and most exciting Hop City yet.”
