Meadowhall has welcomed global collectibles phenomenon Pop Mart to the centre today (Friday 30th October), marking the brand’s first South Yorkshire store.
Located between Thomas Sabo and Seasalt, Cornwall on the Upper High Street, the 2,618 sq ft store will offer Pop Mart’s full range of collectible art figurines and limited-edition blind box figures – where shoppers only discover which character they’ve collected once they’ve opened the box. The range includes some of the brand’s most sought-after characters, from the iconic Labubu, Hirono, Dimoo and SKULLPANDA.
The blind box concept has become a worldwide viral sensation, racking up millions of social media posts and attracting queues around the block at store openings across the globe.
Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “Pop Mart has built a genuinely incredible following, it’s taken the world by storm and there’s real excitement about its arrival here. For fans across South Yorkshire who’ve been tracking the brand online, having a store right here at Meadowhall is a big moment.
“It’s another brilliant addition to what’s already been a fantastic year of new openings, and we’re looking forward to welcoming collectors of all ages through the doors.”
Ian Ashton, UK Head of Retail at Pop Mart, said: “From the iconic Labubu to much-loved favourites SKULLPANDA and Hirono, POP MART’s ever-growing portfolio of collectible figurines continues to captivate fans around the world through innovative launches and exciting collaborations.
“We’re proud to be opening at Meadowhall, bringing the POP MART experience to one of the UK’s premier shopping destinations. Whether you’re a long-time collector or discovering the brand for the first time, we look forward to welcoming customers into an immersive retail environment that celebrates creativity, collectability, and the joy of discovery.”
The opening follows a strong run of new arrivals at Meadowhall this year, including fashion brands Pull&Bear and Stradivarius making their Yorkshire debuts, Crew Clothing joining The Avenue, and the much-loved LEGO store relocating into a bigger home on the Lower Level.
