Massarella’s Cafe Bar & Fine Art

The Olive Cafe

A welcoming team and an eclectic menu await you if you choose to stop by The Olive Cafe. Noted for being great value for money, they cater to a variety of tastes, including some good vegetarian and vegan options.
If you’re looking for a boozy lunch, they’re licensed too, so you can happily order a glass of wine or a bottle of beer to complement your lunch. Their mediterranean options are probably the best bet, and I can highly recommend their hummus dishes.
Salts Diner
Salts Diner | 7-6 Victoria Road, Shipley BD18 3LA | 01274 530 533
Let’s face it, many people visit Saltaire with the express intent of seeing Salts Mill. Luckily for them, Salts Diner is a great cafe which has lots going for it. Not only does it let you soak in the character of the iconic building from inside its walls, but it’s surrounded by artwork from Bradford’s most illustrious artist David Hockney. As a result, it’s one of the busiest cafes in Saltaire.
Their menu changes often, but includes all sorts of options for lunch – and has delicious coffee! You can get a three course meal here, or just stop by for a cup of tea – either way, the foods good, the setting’s incredible and it’s no wonder that it’s one of the most visited locations in the village.
Buonissimo Delicatessen
Buonissimo Delicatessen | 59 Bingley Road, Shipley BD18 4SB | 01274 581381
Who doesn’t love an Italian-inspired sandwich? Whether you eat in or takeaway, there’s an air of authenticity at Buonissimo Delicatessen. They serve allsorts from cakes to hot sandwiches and I personally can’t get enough of their sandwiches – both hot and cold – which offer something a little out of the norm in Saltaire.
If Focaccia bread and deli meat make you happy – Buonissimo Delicatessen’s the perfect destination for you. Having said that, if you’d like something a little more substantial, they’ve got cakes, pasta dishes and a whole lot more available to satisfy your appetite. It’s reasonably priced and well worth seeking out.
Jeanette’s Cakery
Jeanette’s Cakery | 58 Bingley Road, Shipley BD18 4SD | 01274 921902
Quaint and quirky are just a couple of words which describe Jeanette’s Cakery well. Inside, you’ll find a whole world of cutesy decorations along with a selection of lunch options ideal for those with a sweet tooth. The theme here is definitely vintage and there’s a really lovely atmosphere.
You’re guaranteed a warm welcome, and if you’re after a nice cup of coffee, or prefer speciality tea – there’s that too. Delightful crockery and impressive looking baked goods make Jeanette’s the perfect option if you’re in the region for afternoon tea.
The Terrace
The Terrace | 83 Bingley Rd, Shipley BD18 4SB | 01274 533084
Think Eggs Benedict or a cooked breakfast is the perfect way to start the day? A visit to The Terrace may well be in order. It’s a cafe by day but transforms into one of the area’s most popular restaurants in the evening, serving a diverse menu of French cuisine.
They’ve got a fairly extensive menu which includes creatively crafted burgers, delicious sandwiches and a great selection of breakfast/brunch/lunch dishes. They’re fully licensed too, and as a consequence, they’ve become a popular destination for a boozy brunch.
Tambourine
Tamourine | 38 Bingley Road, Shipley BD18 4RU | 01274 945870
One of the newest additions to the cafes in Saltaire, Tambourine’s been delighting visitors for the past few years because of their exceptional coffee. There’s a real community feel here, and the team there are amongst the friendliest in Saltaire. It’s no wonder that although they’re one of the newest, they’ve already got a loyal and quickly growing fan base.
The highlight here is the coffee, which they source locally. The menu’s diverse, yet remains manageable – including options like hummus on toast, smoked salmon and cream cheese Bagels and a good selection of toasties.
211 The Deli
211 The Deli | 211 Bingley Road, Shipley BD18 4DH | 01274 595081
Although not technically in Saltaire – it’s only 30 seconds away and because it’s one of our favourite cafes in the area, so it deserves an honourable mention.
It’s one of the most popular places to grab lunch in the area and that’s no surprise when you consider that they freshly bake their very own Foccacia bread in house every day. They’re licensed, and have a great wine list on offer. What’s more, from Thursday to Saturday, they’re open until 9pm for dinner.
