Aldi Donates Over £1,000 of Essentials to Sheffield Charity

Aldi has donated more than £1,000 worth of products to a local charity to support survivors of modern slavery.

The donation, which includes much-needed items like bedding, clothing and home goods, will be used by the charity Causeway, headquartered in Sheffield, to create care packages for survivors of modern slavery.

Since 2009, Causeway has been working alongside the Government’s National Referral Mechanism (NRM) for modern slavery to provide a range of services for survivors of modern slavery.

Aldi has worked with Causeway since 2020, donating over £25,000 to date to enable the charity to continue its vital support for the local community.

Jed Barr, Fundraising and Business Development Manager at Causeway, said: “The people we support have faced unprecedented challenges and this donation from Aldi allows us to help them in new ways. The items in the care packages will be crucial to creating safe spaces for those who need it most and we are very grateful for the donation.”

Liz Fox, Sustainability Director at Aldi UK, said: “Supporting the local communities we serve is incredibly important to us at Aldi and we are proud to have worked with Causeway for several years.

“The care and guidance Causeway provides to people who are in such difficult situations is invaluable, and the importance of what they do cannot be overestimated.”
