Despite Zoom and Google ordering their employees back to the office, new data from SPG Resourcing shows 90% of technology jobs in Yorkshire offer hybrid working.
The study of open job roles from the technology talent recruiter shows hybrid and full-time working from home remains the most popular employment model for jobs advertised in July 2023.
Commenting on the trend, Sam Hameed, co-founder and managing director of SPG Resourcing, said: “There is still a lot of competition for technology talent in the region, and companies are choosing to offer remote working to attract the people they need. Experienced professionals and new talent entering the workforce are looking for flexible working and the benefits it brings to work-life balance.
“Technology allows companies to maintain a close relationship with staff wherever they work and, on the current data, it seems people will be working from home for some time to come.”
According to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, the Leeds City Region’s Digital Technology sector is worth £6.6 billion to the economy and employs 102,000 people. It is growing due to a thriving startup scene and expansion by companies with London and international headquarters.
