5 Seriously Satisfying Dessert Spots in Bradford

Dessert Tapas from Heavenly Desserts, Bradford

Fancy skipping the main course and going straight to dessert? I don’t have an overly sweet tooth but when I do get a sweet craving, I prefer to satisfy it with a little trip out for an indulgent dessert rather than a chocolate fix in front of the TV. Thankfully, dessert-only eateries are popping up left, right and centre and Bradford, my closest city, is home to a splendid array!

In this article, I’m sharing some of the best dessert spots in Bradford so you know where to go for your next pancake stack, loaded waffle, ice-cream sundae or perhaps, a comforting sponge with custard that evokes nostalgic childhood memories!

1306 Leeds Road, Bradford BD3 8LF

This luxury dessert restaurant chain was established back in 2008 and boasts venues in numerous towns and cities throughout the UK. One of the main brands associated with dessert-only dining, Heavenly Desserts offers an extensive menu featuring all kinds of delicious, albeit calorific treats.

Whatever your favourite dessert or sweet treat you’re craving at the time, you’re likely to find exactly what you’re looking for on the menu at Heavenly Desserts. It’s a dizzying assortment of hot and cold desserts featuring waffles, crepes, cheesecakes, steaming hot old-school-style puddings and everything in between.

Choosing a dessert often requires a significant amount of deliberation but thankfully, Heavenly Desserts now caters to indecisive dessert lovers such as myself. Rather than choosing a full-size dish, you can order a selection of dessert tapas plates to share with your friends and enjoy a little taste of multiple items. Croffles, Cookie Dough, Macarons, Mini Doughnuts, Brownies, Mochi and Cannoli in smaller portions for maximum pleasure!

Cake’Ole

Centenary Square, Bradford BD1 1HY

I’m lucky enough to live close to the OG Cake’OIe venue and I assure you, I have made the most of it! If you’re yet to discover the magic of Cake’Ole, I strongly suggest you head on over as soon as possible.

The venue is well-known for its whimsical interiors and quirky decor however, it’s the spectacular daily cake displays that keep people going back for more. Every day the talented cake magicians knock up an array of enormous cakes in a superb range of wonderful flavours. From classics like Victoria Sponge and Carrot Cake to more creative bakes like Blackcurrant & Liquorice, you’re bound to spot a slice you like and best of all, you can get free ice cream with whichever cake you choose.

Cake’Ole will happily let you purchase some slices to take home with you but please, if you spy the Salted Caramel, leave that for me!

Ice City Desserts

Ice City on Leeds Road serves mini Dutch pancakes, waffles and cookie doughs loaded with all manner of tasty toppings. Milkshakes, ice-cream sundaes and the immensely popular Tango Ice Blasts are on the menu too so this one’s a big hit with kids.

The contemporary eatery provides a relaxed setting for a family treat and most of the offerings on the menu are available in a regular or large size. The list of options for the waffles and mini pancakes is extensive, to say the least! I counted more than 30 incredible options, each loaded with multiple toppings and sauces. For me, it would have to be the Kinder Bueno – Nutella, Kinder Bueno Sauce, chocolate curls and a chocolate drizzle!

Eden’s Tea Room & Patisserie

219 Keighley Road, Bradford BD9 4JR

Eden’s Tea Room & Patisserie on Keighley Road is a family-run, independent gem! Both from families with backgrounds in the food industry, owners Nurul and Saeqa have created a charming all-day dining spot offering breakfast, lunch and two delectable afternoon teas. The decor is gorgeous, blending contemporary design with pretty nods to the Regency era through vibrant florals and plush soft upholstery.

Opt for the traditional option and tuck into classic finger sandwiches, a savoury mini tartlet, freshly baked scones and a selection of miniature desserts, all served with a pot of Yorkshire Tea.

For those seeking an alternative afternoon tea experience, Eden’s Indian Afternoon Tea is a must-try! The plain scones are switched for warming cinnamon scones, which are served alongside a variety of sweet treats plus, Eden’s delicious Bombay sandwich, samosas and a pot of spicy chickpeas.

Vanilla Rooms

One of Bradford’s most popular dessert spots, Vanilla Rooms on Leeds Road boasts Instagrammable interiors and a mouthwatering menu of insanely good sweet treats. The perfect spot for catching up with friends and capturing those all-important selfies for the grid!

Whilst the menu isn’t as extensive as those you’d find at big-name dessert spots, it features all the familiar favourites and everything is made from scratch on the premises.

Choose from pancakes, waffles, hot puddings, cakes, cheesecakes and more then wash your chosen sweet treat down with a creamy milkshake or a tasty mocktail.

For me, it has to be the Schoko Banoffee Stack with its crunchy crumb base, chocolate and banana ice creams and drizzles of toffee sauce!
