The Food and Drink Gifts We’re Loving This Christmas
The Proper Christmas Cheeseboard – George & Joseph (£40)
Chapel Allerton-based cheesemongers, George & Joseph, have launched a trio of festive cheese boxes that are perfect for gifting to your favourite foodie. Curated by founder Stephen Fleming, they’re available to order both in-store and online.
A personal favourite is The Proper Christmas Cheeseboard. Priced at £40, it includes a whopping 1kg of classic British cheeses, all handmade by award-winning producers. From the crumbly and full-flavoured Quicke’s Mature Cheddar to the creamy and mellow Colton Bassett Stilton (it wouldn’t be Christmas without a blue!), there’s something to suit most cheese preferences. The perfect cheeseboard to round off a proper Yorkshire Christmas feast!
Wellington Meal Kit – Indulge Dining (£50)
We foodies love dining out and sampling the culinary creations of talented professional chefs. At this time of year, however, eating restaurant-quality food in the comfort of our own homes would sometimes be preferable to venturing out on a cold, wet evening.
Earlier this year, I discovered Indulge Dining – a Michelin-star meal kit company that has consistently held a five-star rating since its launch. Chef and founder Andy Bowler boasts an impressive career history, having trained under Michel Roux Jr., spent five years working at both Fera at Claridge’s and Roganic with Simon Rogan, and honed his skills as Sous Chef at Gordon Ramsay’s Petrus.
I opted for one of Indulge Dining’s bestsellers – the Beef Wellington Kit, and it was superb! Every element of the three-course menu is included, along with easy-to-follow instructions on how to heat and present each course. It exceeded my taste expectations too: undoubtedly the most delicious beef wellington I’ve tried thus far. If you know a foodie who loves fine dining, I highly recommend gifting a meal kit from Indulge Dining. Veggies need not miss out either, as there are meat-free versions of the kits available too.
Hard Honey: Pure Honey – Honey Thief (£34)
I do enjoy a tipple or two at Christmas and, because I also enjoy a tipple or two on numerous other occasions throughout the year, I like to try something new over the festive season. My Christmas drinks cabinet this year will most certainly feature a bottle from Honey Thief – the UK’s first hard honey liqueur brand, which was established right here in Yorkshire.
Made from 100% sustainable European honey, the naturally fermented honey liqueur is available in four flavours – Pure Honey, Elderflower Nectar, Sour Cherry and Blueberry & Blackcurrant. Treat someone to a 70cl bottle of the 15% ABV liqueur (perfect as a cocktail base or simply over ice for sipping) or a couple of Honey Thief’s sparkling ready-to-drink cans. A unique and thoughtful gift from Yorkshire for cocktail lovers!
Coffee Tequila Blanco – Hacien (£39.95)
Liqueurs aren’t to everyone’s taste, so here’s another of my favourite 2025 tipple discoveries. Leeds-based HACIEN has produced the perfect tequila for those festive nightcaps and celebratory cocktails. Made with 100% blue agave, Coffee Tequila Blanco delivers a rich, smooth taste of roasted coffee and dark chocolate.
This premium spirit is available on Amazon and usually costs £54.95 per bottle, but it is currently on a limited-time deal for just £29.70. This won’t be available at such a great price for long, so get it while you can!
2 Piece BBQ Kit – Whiteley (£47)
Established in 1760, Whiteley is considered the oldest scissor smiths in the western world. The Sheffield-based company produces a wide range of handmade scissors for crafting, cooking, and outdoor use, but they also offer some excellent gift sets that would make wonderful, high-quality Christmas gifts.
From sewing kits to outdoor survival kits, their gift sets can all be personalised with laser engraving to make them that little more special for your intended recipient. Perhaps treat someone who loves firing up the barbecue during the warmer months to this handy 2-piece BBQ kit, featuring two essential tools – ultra-sharp kitchen scissors with a micro-serrated edge and a stainless steel BBQ turner for flipping and cleaning.
Coffee Tasting Pack – Common Coffee (£46)
Another one of my discoveries of 2025 is a speciality coffee roaster, Common. These guys are based near Edinburgh and work with high-quality seasonal beans to create a range of beautiful coffees to suit different tastes and brewing styles.

If you’re looking for something sugary and indulgent to gift to a sweet-toothed loved one this Christmas, be sure to check out the fantastic Fudge Kitchen. The employee-owned company has been creating delicious confectionery for 40 years and now boasts six high street shops in cathedral and university cities across the UK, including York.
Their handcrafted fudge is available in a range of classic and contemporary flavours and makes a delightful gift. Fudge Kitchen has released a variety of beautifully packaged gifts for Christmas that can be ordered online, including the Fudge Selection Box featuring mouthwatering flavours such as Speculoos, Stem Ginger and Hazelnut Praline. Seasonal Treats Box – Prestige Hampers (£34.99 – WAS £43.99)
Halifax-based Prestige Hampers has some cracking deals on hampers right now, and they’re available for delivery, right up until Christmas Eve. There are loads to choose from, with thoughtfully curated hampers available to suit most budgets and preferences.
Whether you want to elevate someone’s Christmas with a hamper of cheese and wine or wish to gift a family a big basket of seasonal treats, you’re bound to find the ideal selection of goodies on their website, and many are currently available with generous discounts. I’ve had a couple of hampers from this Yorkshire company and have always been impressed with the contents and the quality of the hamper baskets and boxes. Many of this year’s offerings are currently available at reduced prices, including this lovely Seasonal Treats Box. Perfect for gifting to a young family, it’s packed with both sweet and savoury treats.
Christmas Time Hamper – 123 Hampers (£125 – WAS £170)
Need something a little larger? 123 Hampers has a great range of gorgeous gift hampers on offer at the moment. Prices start from as little as £29 for a Christmas Eve Box that little ones will adore, right up to £1,200 for the Majestic Grandeur Hamper – a huge basket filled to the brim with luxury goodies.
The best value hampers, in my opinion, are the mid-size ones that contain all the traditional festive treats such as Christmas puddings, luxury chocolates, crackers for cheese, bottles of wine and a couple of exciting additions for the kids, such as Gingerbread Kits and Shortbread Stars. There are some superb savings to be had on these if you get in quick. For example, the Christmas Time hamper, which usually costs £170, can now be ordered for just £125!
The Forager’s Table by Tom and Laurissa Heywood – Amazon (£20.24)
Foragers and home cooks alike will love The Forager’s Table by Tom and Laurissa Heywood of Pignut & The Hare. The book features 80 seasonal recipes inspired entirely by the landscape of the Helmsley Hills, from braised, jellied, and pickled apples to wild mushrooms and herbs. Each recipe encourages readers to notice, gather, and celebrate what grows around them.
Rooted in North Yorkshire flavours but designed for kitchens across the UK, the book offers clear guidance on sourcing and working with wild ingredients. Tom and Laurissa’s restaurant, Pignut & The Hare, has already earned three AA Rosettes, a Michelin Guide listing, and the Craft Guild of Chefs Sustainable Restaurant Award 2025, reflecting their passion for local, seasonal produce.

Cosmic Cocktails by The Alchemist – Amazon (£14.55)
As one of my favourite spots for a cocktail in Leeds, The Alchemist never fails to impress, and now their creativity has been captured in Cosmic Cocktails. Following the success of their first book, Master the Dark Arts of Mixology, this new guide features 100 original recipes inspired by the 12 signs of the zodiac, with bespoke drinks reflecting each star sign’s personality, ruling planets, and elemental flair.
Highlights include the flirty French Kiss for Taurus, blending vodka, pineapple, berries, and a cloud of meringue foam; the adventurous Ginger Kick for Aries with lime leaf–infused gin, lime, ginger beer, and ginger foam; and the playful Piña Co Lava Lamp for Sagittarius, combining rum, coconut, pineapple caviar, and a touch of dry-ice magic. Non-alcoholic options are available for every sign, alongside plenty of Alchemist classics.

Penguin Selection Box – McVitie’s (RRP £3.00) McVitie’s
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a selection box, and although they’ll never be as good again as they were in the 90s, there are still some great ones available from the UK’s most loved confectionery brands. This year, I’m highlighting one from McVitie’s because it’s brand new for 2025 and quite unlike most of the others.
The Penguin Selection Box is available at most major supermarkets with a recommended retail price of £3. A great little stocking filler or secret Santa gift for any age, it includes a variety of Penguin biscuit products. Whether gifting for little hands to unwrap or as a small treat for an adult, the selection box of biscuits we all wanted to find in our packed lunches should certainly raise a smile.
