Chopstix noodle bar is set to celebrate the Chinese New Year with a massive nationwide giveaway, including several locations across Yorkshire. Today, Tuesday 17 February, the chain will welcome the Year of the Horse by offering a free box of food to the first 200 fans through the door at each of its 150 stores.
The celebrations continue beyond the initial food giveaway with over £100,000 in prizes up for grabs. Starting today and running until 28 February, every purchase of a £3.99 meal deal will come with a golden fortune cookie. These cookies contain a QR code that could reveal a range of prizes, from free food offers to high tech gadgets such as Samsung phones, FitBits, Beats headphones, and the new Nintendo Switch 2 console.

The campaign is inspired by “Hongbao,” the Chinese tradition of gifting red envelopes containing money to symbolise luck and prosperity during the Lunar New Year. With Yorkshire locations in Sheffield, Leeds, York, Doncaster, Castleford, and Hull, local “flavour cravers” have plenty of opportunities to take part in the festivities.
Rob Burns, Marketing Manager for Chopstix, said: “We wanted to kick off the celebrations for Chinese New Year with a bang; and what better way than with a huge giveaway for all of our loyal Chopstix fans. At Chopstix, we’re big on flavour, big on boldness and big on reward. Anyone who’s visited us before knows we love our flavour cravers and they love our food, so what better way to bring in the celebrations than to give them the chance to score some epic prizes alongside their favourite Chopstix flavours.”
The golden fortune cookies are limited to 25,000 across the country and are only available with the qualifying £3.99 meal deal while stocks last.
