Dakota Hotels Celebrate International Women’s Day with Launch of Charity Cocktail

Luxury hotel group Dakota Hotels is raising a glass to women empowerment this International Women’s Day on 8th March with the launch of their groupwide charitable cocktail – ‘Grain ‘n’ Grind’.

For the second consecutive year, Dakota Hotels has partnered with charities Girls Out Loud and Women’s Fund Scotland to support their noble causes. The ‘Grain ‘n’ Grind’ cocktail is a delightful blend of Johnnie Walker Black Label, The King’s Ginger liqueur, vanilla syrup, lemon, and Angostura Bitters, crafted to perfection.

Lucy Greenwood, Assistant Bar Manager at Dakota Glasgow and the creative mind behind ‘Grain ‘n’ Grind’, shared her inspiration for the cocktail: “The drink celebrates the rise of women in whisky, paying homage to Dr Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker’s first female Master Blender in 200 years. It’s inspired by my cherished memories of enjoying whisky with my grandfather and my passion for gender representation in the beverage industry.”

Reflecting on the significance of women in hospitality, Greenwood added, “To see strong, educated women in these hospitality positions is a source of inspiration – allowing us to realise these are goals achievable for all.”

‘Grain ‘n’ Grind’ will be available at all five Dakota Hotels locations – Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Eurocentral – from 8th to 31st March. With every purchase of the cocktail, £1 will be donated to a regional, female-focused charity.

In England, proceeds from each cocktail sold will support Girls Out Loud, an organisation dedicated to inspiring girls to reach their full potential. Meanwhile, in Scotland, funds will be directed to Women’s Fund for Scotland, which invests in women’s organisations and advocates for significant change benefiting women and girls across the nation.

Lily Shepherd-Foode, Head of Marketing & PR at Dakota Hotels, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative: “It’s a pleasure to celebrate women within hospitality and beverage this International Women’s Day. I’m also thrilled to be supporting two incredibly important female-focused organisations that do such significant work for women and girls across the country.”

Shepherd-Foode continued, “We are delighted to have partnered with Girls Out Loud and Women’s Fund for Scotland for the second year running on our International Women’s Day cocktail. These organisations are taking impactful action, and Dakota Hotels want to show our appreciation to them both.”

Join Dakota Hotels in raising a toast to women’s achievements and support these meaningful causes by indulging in the ‘Grain ‘n’ Grind’ cocktail at any Dakota location throughout March. Celebrate women, celebrate empowerment. Cheers!
